SAN DIEGO (AP)-San Diego Padres slugger Adrian Gonzalez(notes)  is as good as gone after the 2011 season.

Either side have figured for a while that the three-time All-Star could be too costly to remain together with his hometown crew after subsequent season. Nothing’s modified after agent John Boggs had lunch this week with general supervisor Jed Hoyer.

“It’s not a shock,” Hoyer mentioned Thursday. “We sat down and confirmed that.”
